away at the age of 73 on Nov. 17, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
Raymon and his twin brother, Laymon, were born July 19, 1936, to the late Floyd and Nillie (McLeskey) Lawrence in Rector, Ark.
Raymon served 29 years active duty with the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Air Force in 1983 as a Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt).
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shana and Ray Bob Cochran of Mammoth Spring, Ark., and Shelley and Jim Underwood of Thayer, Mo.; four grandchildren, Kib and Sarah Cochran of Little Rock, Kyle and Jennifer Williams of Little Rock, Megan and Marc Pitts of Thayer, Mo., and Jade Underwood of Jonesboro; two step-grandchildren, Chris and Niki Cochran and Lynn and Marvin Maguffey of Salem; three great-grandchildren, Grace Cochran, Mary Cochran and Landry Pitts; four brothers, Melvin and Mary Lawrence of New Castle, Ind., Laymon and Ruth Lawrence of North Little Rock, Donald and Wanda Lawrence of Paragould and Ralph and Ann Lawrence of Paragould; one sister, Betty Ellis of Wynne, along with a host of family and friends.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Woodland Heights Cemetery with Erman Croney officiating.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector.
The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Rector High School Helping Hands Foundation.
