The oldest of five children, "Dot" graduated from Guion High School at age 16 and completed her business education at Draughon's Business School in Little Rock.

She was married to Dr. Gary Stewart Dehls on Nov. 1, 1952, shortly before he deployed to Korea.

Survivors include her husband, Gary; her three children, Lynne Howell and husband Ronnie of Memphis, Liz Rusher and husband Gus of Fayetteville and G. Stewart Dehls, Jr. of Piggott. She has one grandson, Rex Rusher of Fayetteville. Also surviving are three brothers, E. F. "Son" and wife Retha Lamb of Melbourne, Ark., Howard Lamb and wife Jane of Mt. Pleasant, Ark., and Fred Lamb and wife Janet of Guion; and one sister, Sue Reynolds of Melbourne, Ark., along with many, many more relatives and friends who all shared a special place in her life.

While living in Piggott, Dot was very active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was a charter member of the Sugar Creek Country Club, where she was a championship golfer. She was a member of the Garden Club and a social bridge group.

Always a singer, she entertained often in her home with her family and friends. Dot was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.

She also was co-owner of the Treasure Chest for several years, which allowed her flair for interior decorating to flourish.

Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 30, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott. Funeral services were held immediately following the visitation with Brothers Zane Gray and Bill Lovelace officiating. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 1, in the Campbell Cemetery in Guion, with Bro. Lloyd Atherton officiating.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Piggott Community Hospital doctors and staff who worked so hard to make these last few months easier for her.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Westside Church of Christ, 760 North 12th Avenue, Piggott, or the Piggott Public Library, 361 West Main Street in Piggott.
