The Traditional Ladies of Piggott are hosting the annual Christmas Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. This year's featured homes are the residences of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Staples on Willow Avenue and the home of their immediate neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Schulte, along with the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Wellman on North 12th Street.

"The Traditional Ladies hold the Christmas Open House each December as a fundraiser to provide for local needy children for the holidays," club president Sharon Tillman noted. "Tickets to view all three homes are just $5 and can be purchased at any of the three houses the day of the tour or in advance from club members," she added.

The Wellman home is located on North 12th Street and, although it may not be the newest or biggest house on the tour, there's no denying the ambiance and abundance of Christmas spirit.

The ranch style brick home is located at 535 North 12th Street and has been completely remodeled over the past several years. Throughout the home the Wellmans have added their own personal touches, including new hardwood floors.

Jon and Valerie Wellman, along with son Jacob, 12, love to work on both the inside and outside of the residence. And in the four-and-a-half years that they've owned the residence they've made extensive improvements.

For Christmas the home is filled with the southern charm of the holiday. Three Christmas trees may be found throughout the residence, but the showplace attraction is the fireplace. The gas fireplace was added in the past year to the family room of the home and provides the perfect ambiance for the season.

Tickets for the annual Christmas Open House also are available at Suzy's, The Treasure Chest, Feather Your Nest, Piggott State Bank, along with any of the club members.
