The Piggott junior girls dropped two games in the Pre-Holiday Tournament at Weiner last week, falling to both Harrisburg and Trumann. Monday night they traveled to Hoxie and lost a conference game to the Mustangs.

The junior girls faced Harrisburg in the first round of the Pre-Holiday tournament last Tuesday and fell 29-38 to their conference foes. Jessie Scheffler led the Tribe in scoring with 12 points, Hannah Wagster finished with 9, Kacey Crossfield had 7 and Katie Moore finished with 1 point. Lattimore was the top scorer for Harrisburg with 15 in the win.

With the loss to the Lady Hornets the Mohawks moved into the consolation bracket, and a Friday afternoon match-up with Trumann.

In the Trumann contest the junior girls stalled early, and although they showed improvement as the game progressed fell 22-34 to the Lady Wildcats.

Scheffler was again top scorer in the loss with 7 points, while Crossfield, Moore and Blackmon had 4 points each. Williams was the top scorer for Trumann with 13 points in the win.

As a team the junior girls were just 2 for 11 from the free throw line, while Trumann was 10 of 25 from the charity stripe on the game.

Monday evening the girls visited Hoxie for a 3A-3 conference contest and fell by a final of 22-46 to the Mustangs.

With the losses the girls fall to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in 3A-3 conference play.

The junior girls were scheduled to host the Earle Bulldogs Thursday evening at PHS, and will be on the road at Harrisburg Monday, Dec. 14.
