Pharis A. Gordon, 81, of Duncanville, Texas, died on Nov. 27, 2009, in Fort Worth, Texas.

He was born on June 5, 1928, at Piggott, a son of the late Oscar and Minnie Gordon. He was raised and educated at Piggott.

He served in the U. S. Navy for five years. He had lived in Duncanville, Texas, for over 30 years and was retired from Vought Aircraft where he worked as a sheet metal worker.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marshel Gordon, Delbert Gordon and Eldridge Gordon, and sisters Mamie Glover, Myrl Gordon and Leatrice Newman.

Graveside services were held in Piggott Cemetery Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, with John Sandine officiating. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
