She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Remel, Carl, and Charles Cooper, and one sister, Verl Rodden.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel F. Morgan, of the home; one sister, Bernice Ward of St. Charles, Mo., and one brother, Paul Cooper of Jefferson City, Mo.
She married Samuel Morgan in Piggott, May 26, 1948. She was a graduate of Greenway High School and Cosmetology School in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She worked in a small arms factory in St. Louis, as an inspector, during World War II. She was a member of Normandy Road Baptist Church in Royal Oak, Mich. She resided in Clawson, Mich., until retiring in Jonesboro in 1987. Ruth also was a faithful fan of the Roundup at Brookland.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, in Piggott Cemetery with Jerry Morgan officiating. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
Visitation was held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Susan G. Komen Headquarters.
