She was born June 21, 1947, in Granite City, Ill., and was the daughter of the late Robert Jefferson and Anna Mae (White) Poarch.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Richard Loness and Robert "Bobby" Leslie Poarch.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Thompson; five children, James Edward Gibson of Piggott, Kathy Lynn Jackson of Bland, Mo., Jeffrey Lee Gibson of Piggott, Kenneth Wayne Hill of Piggott and Shane Ira Thompson of Piggott; three step-children, Juanita Lynn Biffer of Columbia, Ill., Jimmy Lee Thompson, Jr. of Columbia, Ill., and Loletia Deann Forester of Columbia, Ill.; three sisters, Betty Mae Singer of Liberty, Mo., Rosella Poarch of Granite City, Ill., and Mickie Kay Poarch of Granite City, Ill., along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Bill Ivy officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Visitation was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements.
