Mamie Etta Hargrave

Mamie Etta Hargrave was born on July 21, 1916, to the late Clifford T. Linam and Mamie Etta Linam in Rector, Arkansas. She departed this life at the age of 93 to be with her beloved Savior on December 11, 2009, in the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. Her family was with her as she was translated to her new home in heaven.

Her husband, Joseph Louis Hargrave of Rector, preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived by four sons, Jack Hargrave and wife Scarlett of Rector, Arkansas, Stephen Hargrave and wife Sharon of Chesterfield, Missouri, Kenneth Hargrave and wife Lisa of Rector, Arkansas, and Roy Hargrave and wife Marki of Ormond Beach, Florida.

Other survivors include two brothers, Hughey Linam (95) and his wife Mary (96) of Rector and Jack Lankford and wife Irene of Louisville, Kentucky, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

God had blessed her with 11 grandchildren, Richard Hargrave of

Kennett, Missouri, Cindy Robertson of Paragould, Arkansas, Courtney Griffin of Dallas, Texas, Stacy Engel of Cottleville, Missouri, Sarah Newberry of Little Rock, Arkansas, Joseph Hargrave of Rector, Arkansas, Patrice Bolling of Washington, D.C., Nathan Hargrave of Ormond Beach, Florida, Rachel Mergener of Ormond Beach, Florida, Jordan Hargrave of Ormond Beach, Florida, and R.A. Hargrave of Ormond Beach, Florida.

She was also blessed in her old age to enjoy 10 great-grandchildren.

She was an artist, a homemaker and the best cook in the county. She was a Christian of the Methodist faith and was devout in her love of Scripture and her Savior. The family rejoices that she is now in heaven with her beloved Savior Jesus Christ, enjoying eternal bliss beyond measure with many of her loved ones.

The funeral will be Saturday, December 19, at 1 p.m. at the

Evangelical Methodist Church at Hargrave Corner, with Dr. Roy Hargrave officiating.

Visitation and fellowship will begin at the church at 11 a.m.

Visitation will also be held at 6 to 7:30 on Friday evening, December 18, at Irby's Funeral Home in Rector.

The family has requested that donations be sent to her home church, the Evangelical Methodist church at Hargrave Corner, in lieu of flowers.
