GT program attracts huge crowd

More than 300 people were on hand Saturday night for the third annual Rector Elementary GT Christmas, Talent and Project Show, which allowed elementary gifted and talented students to display their talents in many areas and raised $233 for gifts for local needy children.

A welcome was given by elementary GT instructor Candy Williams.

She recognized GT students who completed projects.

Those who displayed arts and crafts were:

Bailey Hoots -- Weaving Project.

Parker Bucy -- Painted Ornaments.

Avery Bucy -- Glitter Ornaments.

Matt Belsky -- Birdhouse.

Taylor Page -- Picture Using Colors.

Natalie Shelton -- Holiday Glass Box Lantern.

Abraham Christensen -- Dog House.

Educational, informational and science projects included:

Jada Bracken -- Juvenile Diabetes.

Case Watson -- Model of Erupting Volcano.

Zane Wright -- Volcano.

Camden Mount -- Tranformers: More Than Meets The Eye.

Baking projects included:

"I would like to thank all of my students and their families for making this show so unique and totally enjoyable," said Mrs. Williams. "I adore my GT students and am so proud of them. I love their energy, creative ideas and generous hearts. I would like to thank Mr. Fowler and the Rector School Board for the help and support they always extend to the GT program. A special thank you goes to Nate Henderson for setting up the sound and running our soundboard. In addition, I would like to thank all of my co-workers for their help and support. I love this school!
