Guidance for 2010

Wednesday, December 30, 2009
A friend from Batesville emailed a handbook of 39 rules for 2010.

The rules deal with health, personality, society and life.

I can't begin to list all 39 rules but I will mention those that sparked my interest.

For health, eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.

Drink plenty of water.

Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

Sleep for seven hours.

Take a 10-30 minute walk daily.

Play more games; read more books.

Make time to pray.

For society, forgive everyone for everything.

Each day give something good to others.

Try to make three people smile each day.

Call your family often.

Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of six.

Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Keep in touch.

For personality, smile and laugh more

Don't waste precious energy on gossip.

Don't over-do. Keep your limits.

Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

Invest your energy in the positive present moment.

Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. The lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does

Don't compare your life with others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

Envy is a waste of time.

Rules about life include no matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

Do the right thing!

Your inner most is always happy. So, be happy.

Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

God heals everything

When you awake alive in the morning, thank God for it,

The handbook of practical guidance might be useful as we consider resolutions in the New Year.

For starters, think positive.
