Versie Odessa Speer

She was born August 26, 1919, to the late Johnny and Kate (Hyde) Jetton in

Paragould. She was a homemaker and a member of Simmons Chapel

Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,

Conley Speer, and an infant son, Granville Etheridge Speer.

Versie is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Weldon and

Susie Speer of Miami, Okla., Aaron and Sue Speer of Marmaduke and Darrell

and Linda Speer of Rector; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and

Gail Benson of Piggott; nine grandchildren, Kelly McCormick, Stacey

Speer, Kristy Rowe, Richard Benson, Stan Benson, Greg Benson, Jason

Speer, Amy Speer and Barb Rannard; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister,

Sarah (Dump) Wilson of Corning, along with a host of nieces, nephews

and friends.

Funeral services were Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the

Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Eddie Harris officiating. Interment

was at the Shiloh Cemetery in Paragould.

Visitation began Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at 6 p.m.
