Loyd Cox, 95, of Greenway, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the Piggott Community Hospital.

He was born April 9, 1914, in Calls Chapel, Ark., and was the son of the late Everett and Ella (Moore) Cox.

He was united in marriage to Mabel Graddy on July 7, 1934. To this union two children were born.

Preceding him in death were one granddaughter, Lisa Thompson, three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by one son, Terry Cox and wife Judy of Greenway; one daughter, Betty Boley and husband Jim of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; three grandchildren, Lannie Cox and wife Laura, Kyle Cox and wife Christina and Tresa Laboube and husband Jim; five great-grandchildren, Dillon, Trevor, Sylvia, Mason and Naomi; one sister, Virginia Menser of Piggott, along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 2, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Jerry Morgan and Lannie Cox officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway. Pallbearers were Trevor Thompson, Brent Coomer, Kent Coomer, Joel Coomer, Ricky Graddy and Carey Rau. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
