Roy was born in Peach Orchard, Ark., May 10, 1925, the son of the late Thurman and Julie (Mollencupp) Riney. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a factory worker by trade.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Riney of the home; three sons, Roy Riney, Jr., and wife Barbara of St. Louis, Russell Riney and wife Rebecca of St. Louis and Riger Riney and wife Delores of Las Vegas, Nev.; four daughters, Jackie Campbell and husband Neil of Amarillo, Texas, Lorie Allen and husband Danny of Berryville, Ark., Lesia Darr of Mansfield, Mo., and Julia Hovis and husband Paul of Piggott; one brother, Louis Riney and wife Gloria of Paragould; three sisters, Dortha Long of California, Georgia Risner and husband Pete of Rector and Judy Blankenship and husband Wayne of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, Angela, Matthew, Sarah, Amanda, Ellen, Ryan, Rachel, Deanna, Logan and April, and six great-grandchildren, along with a host of other loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Riney; three sisters, Lydia Russom, May Davis and Anna Stokes, and one son-in-law, David Darr.
Services were held Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott under the direction of Bro. Loy Culver. Burial was in the Piggott Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Charles Risner, Jimmy Risner, Terry Risner, Curtis Graham, Logan Riney, Matt Campbell and Kevin Froelich.
