Neither snow, nor rain...

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

With temperatures hovering in the lower to mid 20's and a stiff northwesterly wind blowing at about 20 miles per hour over a fresh two to three inches of snow, there were few out and about early Tuesday morning to either admire or scowl at the latest blanket of white which covered the area Monday afternoon and evening. But, true to the proud tradition of the U.S. Postal Service, local mail carrier Cam Cate was out early making his rounds in a snow-covered postal vehicle which could have been described as a snowmobile. Heavy snow which fell in late January had just melted away when the second round began Sunday night, bringing about an inch of snow early Monday and then another couple of inches later in the day. Sunshine and above freezing temperatures the remainder of the week will likely make this snowfall short lived. (Democrat photo/Nancy Kemp)
