His wife, Ruby, passed away Nov. 8, 2009. She has three daughters living in Washington State.
Julius had five brothers, Everette, Henry, Woodrow, Bill and Finis, along with three sisters, Mildred, Geneva and Hazel. All are deceased.
Julius graduated from Piggott High School in 1942, working for The Piggott Banner during his final two years in school. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army.
In 1951 he joined the Boeing Company in Washington, where he worked on the Minuteman rocket, the lunar orbiter, along with the Saturn rockets for the Apollo program. He also worked on the Boeing 737, 747 and 757 airplanes prior to retiring in 1986.
Services with full U.S. military honors were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Piggott Public Library.
