Floyd Doyle "Johnny" Hayes of Senath, Mo., son of the late James Leonard and Clara E. (Elder) Hayes, was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Wayne County, Mo., and passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott at the age of 83.

On May 3, 1952, in Senath, he married Maxine Pickney.

Mr. Hayes was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Hayes of Senath; one son, Jimmy Hayes and wife, Charla, of Senath; four daughters, Debra Ann Murphree and husband, Dennis, of Franklin, N.H., Sharon Cooper and husband, Larry, of Bentonville, Ark., Janet Dunivan and husband, Mark, of Senath and Donna Haywood and husband, Rick, of Piggott; one sister, Lavada Ridings of Jackson, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Hayes of Scott City, Mo., and Mildred Hayes of Jacksonville, Ark.; 19 grandchildren, Jake Hayes, Amanda Hayes Mann, Daniel Murphree, Alethia Murphree Alexander, Charles Murphree, David Murphree, James Murphree, John Murphree, Janna Murphree Cook, Adam Cooper, Jessica Cooper Browning, Samantha Dunivan, Zachary Dunivan, Stephanie Dunivan, Jonathan Dunivan, Kimberly Dunivan, Nathaniel Dunivan, Kalee Haywood and Nick Haywood; six great-grandchildren, Elijah A. Tracey, Jeremiah C. Tracey, Braxton Brice Cook, Ethan Adam Cooper, Evan Keith Cooper and Cooper Caden Browning; several nieces and nephews along with other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 25, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath. Funeral services held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the First Assembly of God Church in Senath with Rev. Charles Clark and Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating.

Burial was in the Senath Cemetery. His grandsons served as pallbearers.
