Edgar Medling

Edgar Medling, 80, of McDougal died Sunday March 14, 2010, at St. Bernards Hospice in Jonesboro.

Born March 8, 1930, in Oxly, Mo., Mr. Medling worked as a millwright and was a member of Local 1102 for 50 years. He was a member of Sugar Creek Country Club in Piggott and former Mayor of McDougal. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

On Sep. 27, 1948, he was united in marriage to Juanita (Reed) Medling. She preceded him in death Nov. 4, 2009.

Survivors are two sons, Calvin Medling of McDougal and Kevin Medling of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one daughter, Debby Cahrier of Albany, Ohio; one brother, Jack Medling of Sullivan, Mo.; five sisters, Waneta Dickson of St. Louis, Mo., Artie Westerman of Rolla, Mo., Ethel Meadows of Vero Beach, Fla., Zelda Davis St. Clair, Mo., and Doris VanNess of Aston, Fla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Flora (Chaffin) Medling, and his wife, Juanita Medling.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning with Johnny Bradshaw officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Ermert Funeral Home. Interment will be at the New Hope Cemetery at Pollard.
