He was born Sept. 19, 1942, in Piggott, and was the son of the late Raymond Andrew and Sylvia Virginia (Hughes) Wright.
He was united in marriage to Elaine Davidson on Dec. 20, 1959, and to this union two children were born.
Charles was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa. He was a brick layer until the economy of the 1980's necessitated a change. He then worked at Darling Store Fixtures almost 20 years, retiring due to his health. Charles worked at something all the time, and was a jack-of-all-trades when things needed fixing. An auctioneer for many years, he enjoyed working with his father, Raymond, setting up for Saturday auctions.
Charles also loved music and most every day you could find him "out in his barn" listening to music, playing his fiddle or inside playing guitar or piano. He was known and loved by so many people and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piggott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Sylvia Wright, and one sister, Shirley Schoettlin.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Wright of Piggott; two children, Kenny Wright and wife Sarah of Hoxie and Angela Wright of Memphis; two grandchildren, Dustin Blackshear and wife Whitney and Sabrina Buys and husband Brock; one great-grandson, Cameron Buys; two brothers, James Wright and wife Betty of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Johnny Wright of Paragould; three sisters, Lottie Gookin and husband Bill of Piggott, Mary Clark of Oak Grove, Mo., and Martha Powers and husband Keith of Brighton, Tenn., along with many other relatives and friends.
