Albert Walls, Jr.

Albert Walls, Jr., son of the late Albert and Rosie Walls, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center at the age of 82.

Albert was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Rector and later moved to Ravenden. Albert worked as a heavy equipment operator in land leveling.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Walls, and a brother, Dallas Walls. Survivors include a son, Richard Walls of Sonora, Calif.; four daughters, Frances Vanhorn of Bonanza, Ore., Emma Lou Burrel of Gilroy, Calif., Patricia A. Eskur of Richmond, Ore., and Kathy Diane Ortego of Sonora, Calif.; seven stepdaughters, Patty Hill of Ravenden, Debbie Kennedy of Vilonia, Lola Wagoner of Strawberry, Berniece Hartgraves of Oak Grove and Cathy Tatum, Nancy Smith and Judy Fletcher, all of Jonesboro; 35 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector. The service followed at 2 p.m. Friday at Mitchell Funeral Home.
