Wayne Spicer, 85, of Greenway, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born Dec. 19, 1924, in Greenway, and was the son of the late C.O. and Gertrude (McDonald) Spicer.
He was united in marriage to Ruby Pauline Harmon May 15, 1949. Ruby preceded him in death in 2002.
He was also preceded in death by six brothers, J.W. "Pete" Spicer, Willard "Mutt" Spicer, J.A. "Gus" Spicer, Howard Spicer, Fred Spicer and Frank Spicer, and two sisters, Mary Wolner and Clara Thrasher.
He was united in marriage to Patsy Christian Dec. 9, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Spicer of Greenway; three step-children, Don Holifield Jr. and wife Tenene, Lenn Holifield and Alana Nash and Glen Davis, all of Pollard; step-grandchildren, Blake and Ridge Holifield of Pollard, Ashley and Jason Nicole of Paragould, Kortney and Rob Vlahiotis of St. Louis, Tim Yust and Ashley Kim of California, Kristi Holifield and Jeff Carroll of St. Louis, Lindsey Holifield and Dennis Hewer of St. Louis, Lauren Holifield and Josh Rubinstein of St. Louis and Chyanne Holifield of Paragould; great-grandchildren, Kierstyn Nicole, Lucas and Liam Carroll, Logan Rubinstein, Taylor Hewer and Weston and Walker Vlahiotis; nephews, Howard Ray Spicer and wife Glenda, Steven Spicer, Ricky Spicer, John Thrasher, Leland Thrasher, Michael Fort and Johnnie Fort; a niece, Fay Parker along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, in Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway. Visitation was held Monday evening at the funeral home.
