Betty Sue Manning, age 74, of Rector, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, in the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Betty was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Rector to the late Sam and Lois Jenkins. She was a member of the Rector First Baptist Church and had been a beautician before retiring.

She was united in marriage to Troy Manning on March 20, 1954.

In addition to her parents, Sam and Lois Jenkins, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Capraro, on June 12, 2006, and a brother, Jim Jenkins.

She is survived by her husband, Troy Manning, of the home; a son, Rick Manning of Rector; four grandchildren, Jim and Billy Hawkinson of St. Charles County, Mo., Sam Manning and Melinda Stookey of St. Charles County, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Rachel and Evan Hawkinson of St. Charles County, Mo., and Eli Manning of St. Charles County, Mo. A host of other relatives and friends also mourn her passing.

Graveside funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010, in the Woodland Heights Cemetery with Ken Roden officiating.

Visitation began at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel until 1:45 p.m.
