Clay County Times-Democrat: Community Sports: Piggott All Star team headed to state (07/01/10)

The Piggott nine and 10 year old baseball squad is playing in their district tournament at Rector this week, and have split their first two games. The first round win for the squad also qualified them to take part in the state tournament.

The team won their first round game, then fell to South Mississippi County by a score of 7-5 Monday evening. Wednesday evening they watched Bald Knob come from behind, as they fell 9-8. Despite the outcome of their game at Rector, the team will be traveling to Arkadelphia next Friday, July 9 to take part in the state tournament.
