Settlemoir wows crowd at Disney event

Recently Kaitlyn Settlemoir of Piggott, the six year old daughter of Brian and Dedra Settlemoir, brought home first place in her age group from the ESPN Disney Wide World of Sports gymnastics competition in Florida.

Kaitlyn, who is a member of the Xtreme Gymnastics group from Poplar Bluff, competed in four events at the competition July 1 at Walt Disney World.

She finished first in the balance beam competition with a 9.6 and in floor exercise with a 9.0. She also placed third in the parallel bars with a 9.175 and was eighth in the vault with a score of 9.45. Her combined score of 37.225 also earned her the all around championship for her age bracket.
