Do your job!

Wednesday, September 1, 2010
The captain of a large ship and his chief engineer got into an argument as to which of them was more important in operating the vessel. Failing to come to an agreement, they decided to swap jobs.

The Chief went to the bridge and the Captain went to the engine room.

It wasn't long before the Captain called the Chief and said, "I can't make her go any further."

"Of course you can't," said the Chief. "I've run her aground!"

God has given each of us special skills. He wants me to do what He has equipped me for and called me to do. And He wants you to do what He has equipped and called you to do.

Your place is different from my place, but it is just as important. In God's sight, it is not about prominence, but performance. There will always be someone who looks more important than we do. However, we usually measure ourselves and others by the world's standards. The Christian must look to and wait upon the Lord for what He wants us to do.
