Such emergence has evoked a loud murmur of our discontent and even annoyance after listening to such outrageous declaration made by the Governor of Texas that Social Security is a "Ponzi Scheme." The black candidate senses a racial problem which may affect his own changes, despite the current occupant of the white House. A congresswoman among those hopefuls has made some wild statements having to do with employing the protection of the Second Amendment in such activity of settling disputes by means of the use of guns. Somehow we feel as if we are being had, and our memory of P.T. Barnum mixes with the smell of snake-oil they have included in the panacea they are trying to sell us. We must refuse to cast our votes like the easy-to-fool rube who mutters "dern" while he's getting fleeced.
Let us not be misled by these mountebanks who come out to afflict us every election cycle -- that's politics!
