Mae Ruth Hardin, 81, of Rector passed away at the Rector Nursing Center on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.

She was born May 29, 1930, to the late Boyd and Edna (Thrasher) Deaver.

Mae Ruth was known for her love of finding a good bargain on her junking and antique searches. Antiques meant a lot to her, especially those connected with her family.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary. At one time in her life, she worked for the Veterans Agriculture School for returning World War II veterans in Rector. She also worked many years as a bookkeeper for the Delta Cotton Coop.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph Hardin.

Mae Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Shiela Hardin of Maumelle, Ark., and Karen Nutt of Rector; a grandson, Pete Nutt and his children, Brittany, Bridget, Christin and Mary Catherine; a granddaughter, LaRhonda Prichard and her children, Lauren and Hunter; a grandson, Stanley Nutt and his children, Rachel and Shelby, and a grandson, B.J. Nutt and his daughter, Madison.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at the Irby Funeral Home with pastor Mace Straubel officiating. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery.
