Millard Wells, longtime Islamorada, Fla., resident and accomplished watercolorist, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, in Arkansas, where he was born.
Millard was born in Imboden to Oliver and Essie Wells (nee Brooks) in 1921. He was a cousin to brothers Newton Edward Wells (deceased) of Greenway and Irvan Clay Wells (deceased) of Oklahoma, both of the Bynum Wells clan.
When the nation's economy crumbled in the late '20s, Oliver moved his family to Flint, Mich., and found work in the growing automotive industry. It was there that Millard's brother, Hank, and sister, Addie Mae, were born.
His children, David, Paul, Joel, Robert and Wendy, grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive Mr. Wells.
His wife of many years, Jeanne, and his son, Jon, predeceased him.
