Mary Alice Bishop
Mary Alice Bishop, 75, of Rector died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born May 27, 1936, in San Acacio, Colo., to Fermin and Rosenda Roybal. Mrs. Bishop was a retired beautician and was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis and wife Candy Bishop of Paragould and Dale Bishop of Rector; two daughters, Denise King of Oxnard, Calif., and Donna and Clifford Pitts of Powhatan, Ark.; a brother, Rudy Roybal of Commerce City, Colo.; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Al Gonzalas of Monte Vista, Colo., Betty and Phillip Pruett of Las Vegas, Nev., Carol and Claud Torres of Strasburg, Colo., Darla and Max Simmons of Monte Vista, Colo., Rose and Loyd Valasquez of Fountain, Colo., and Shirley and John Sanchez of Pueblo, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Jerry and wife Pat Bishop of Woodbine, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Nadine Reddick of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Brandon Bishop, Alicia King-Jackson and Jimmi King, and six great-grandchildren, Chrystopher and Camryn Jackson, Alexa, Alisa and Alana King and Aubrey Layne.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector with Jerry Bishop and Freddie Barker officiating. Burial followed in the Woodland Heights Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tim Roybal, Les Roybal, Carl Parrish, Steve Bishop, Larry Bishop and Mike Pruett. Honorary pallbearers were Laura Atencio, Michele and Daryl Wagster, Jack and Virginia Bishop, Eddie Todd, Brandon Bishop, Blake Bishop, Stephen Brown, Cecil and Leroy Lambie and Richard Brucker.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 26, at the funeral home. A rosary service was held at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
