The Lady Mohawks faced a difficult task Tuesday, playing host to the Rivercrest Lady Colts in softball action. Rivercrest notched a 13-0 victory in five innings, thanks in large part to a strong pitching performance by hard throwing Taylor Harston.
Kacey Crossfield secured the Lady Mohawks' sole hit of the afternoon, leading off the fourth inning with a single.
Crossfield took the loss for Piggott, allowing 10 earned runs on 14 hits with four strikeouts on the afternoon.
"We've got a lot of younger players and have players learning the game and their positions," head coach Nikki Speer said. "We're learning every time we take the field. Each time out, I can see thing that we're doing better. That's the main thing for us right now."
The Lady Mohawks are set to host Kennett at 4 p.m. Monday.
