Cougars battle Indians

The Cougars put up a valiant effort last week against 2A-3 leader Marked Tree, but ultimately fell just short in their bid for an upset over the visiting Indians, 7-5.

Rector gave Marked Tree all they wanted on the afternoon, scoring five runs on eight hits. Daniel White and Mitchell Weber led the Cougar offense, notching a pair of hits and an RBI each. Dustin Sparks and Alec Scott added RBI singles, while Justin Herrera and Dillon Shelton also hit safely on the day.
