The Rector Little League program will host a tournament Thursday through Saturday, April 12-14 at the Jeremy McDaniel Sports Complex in Rector.
A total of 22 teams will be participating in the tournament, including three from Rector and 19 from all over northeast Arkansas and Missouri.
Proceeds from this tournament help all softball and baseball teams. There will be 17 Rector teams playing in the complex this season; the most the community has had in several years.
The tournament will feature a large selection of refreshments, including BBQ chicken and pork, baked potatoes, nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers and more.
A number of improvements have been made to the complex's concession stand/restrooms/storage building. Organizers wish to extend their thanks to the Rector City Council, Rector Mayor David Freeman and Rector Parks and Recreation for providing the funds for the repairs to the roof and the doors of the building. Special thanks are also extended to Barton's and Neil Crowson for the donation of roofing materials, and to Anthony Buck for doing the repairs in time for the tournament.
Organizers would also like to thank all Rector team sponsors: Wolf Farms, Glen Sain Motor Sales, Sol Sisters, Gamblin Trucking, AJ's Stitches, Liberty Bank, Rector Downtown Drug, Cagle Farms, Hamilton Farms, Shelton Sanitation, Bucy Lawn Care, Mosley Auto Parts, Farm Bureau, Irby's Funeral Service and National Pawn & Hardware.
The organizers wish to offer very special thanks to all the coaches, parents, and volunteers who make this program a success.
