The Clay County Arts Council has remained busy planning a full year of events and activities in the past months. The next event will be the organization's annual Night of Chocolate, set for Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Rector Community Center.

This year's Night of Chocolate will include the dinner theatre, "Suspect Hollywood." The cast is under the direction of Whitney Conley and includes: Jeff Beck, Seth Morris, Joseph Hargrave, Nancy Holcomb, Robbie Wells, Conley, Sydney Simmons, Cassidy Boyd and Katrina Payne McAfee. Crew members include Gail Burns, Jane and Marvin Gatewood, Seth McAfee and Joey Pruett.

Entertainment that evening will be provided by Larry Norred and his band featuring vocalist Cathy Norred. The catered meal, by Traveling Wisk, will also include the usual chocolate delights.

Tickets are $30 for CCAC members and 35$ for non-members, and all seats are reserved. Tickets may be purchased for any CCAC board member or by calling 870 240-3014.

The Clay County Arts Council meets alternately in the Rector and Piggott communities. The organization supports the arts in all areas of music, visual art, theatre and dance. The CCAC also presents four scholarships each spring to outstanding students from the county's school districts. One of those is designated as the Joey Pruett Music Scholarship.
