The Christmas Fest will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the annual parade. The parade will be lining up that morning at Piggott Elementary School, and will travel west on Main Street to the First Baptist Church. Organizers note that the prizes for the parade have been adjusted this year, with the elimination of categories and one $50 prize going to the best entry.
A variety of craft and food booths, among other offerings, will be set up around the square that day. The Chamber of Commerce will also be giving away gifts for kids ages birth to 16, although the gifts for those over 16 have been eliminated this year.
Businesses or individuals interested in donating toys for the effort may do so by contacting the chamber office. Those that donate are also reminded to mark the toy with their business name if they choose to be recognized as the donor.
"We're also still looking for volunteers to entertain, or otherwise help with the event," Chamber of Commerce secretary Jan Glover said. She noted that anyone interested in helping, wanting to enter the parade or man a booth may contact her at 598-3167. She added that anyone that has a donation that needs to be picked-up should contact the office by Monday, Nov. 26.
