Wednesday, November 28, 2012
To borrow a line from a popular Christmas carol, "it's the most wonderful time of the year!"

The sights and sounds of the Christmas season will be in great abundance the next few weeks, and a variety of events and activities will be offered.

The Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Christmas Fest from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Preceding the event will be the annual Piggott Christmas Parade, set for 10:30 a.m. Those wanting more information may call the Chamber of Commerce at 870 598-3167.

That evening the Rector Community Center will host the Clay County Art Council's "Night of Chocolate" fundraiser. This year's event will also include a dinner theatre, and more information is available by calling 870 240-3014.

Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. the annual Rector Christmas Parade will be held. The parade will begin at the corner of Third and Main streets in downtown Rector and conclude at the community center, where a big Christmas reception for the entire community will take place.
