Willard E. Hughes, 82, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.
He was born July 17, 1930, to the late Martin and Hettie (Allman) Hughes in Piggott, Ark. He was united in marriage to Barbara Latta on Nov. 11, 1951, and to this union six children were born.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amy and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; six daughters, Donna Key of Austin, Tex., Bobbi Johnson of Piggott, Ark., Patti Bell and husband Allan of Mountain Home, Ark., Kathy White and husband Teddy of McDougal, Ark., Pam Brady of Piggott, Ark. and Debbie LeFevre of Wimberley, Tex.; three sisters, Lenora Dalton of Carleton, Mich. June Rodery of Southgate, Mich. and Elaine Mobley of Piggott, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, in the First Baptist Church in Piggott, Ark. with Charles Carrens and Rob Welborn officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery. Visitation was held Saturday evening in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel. Pallbearers were Allan Bell, Teddy White, Jason Bell, Tyler Bell, Stacy Harmon, Justin Tompkins, Chuck Kracy and Derrick Kracy. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., was in charge of the arrangements.
