Freeda Marie (Speer) Everett
Freeda Everett passed away on Feb. 23, 2013, at Tender Care Nursing Facility in Portage, Mich. She was the daughter of the late John and Ida (Pullam) Speer and was born in Rector on Nov. 6, 1917.
Freeda was a beautician. She was a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star E.H.C. Rector Chapter and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Rector.
She had previously been living with her granddaughter and family: Dr. David and Deb Sackett in Portage, Mich.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband: James Hulan Everett, her two sons: James Larry Everett and Jerry Lee Everett, one granddaughter: Kimberly Carlson and three brothers: J.C. Speer, Cecil Speer and John Speer.
She is survived by two daughters-in-laws: Joan Everett Harrison of Portage, Mich. and Sandra "Chris" Everett of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; her grandchildren: Deb Sackett of Portage, Mich., Valerie Baugher of Fenton, Mo., Jim Everett of Kalamazoo, Mich., Chad Everett and Kassandra Browning of Poplar Bluff, Mo., 14 great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Berneice Wooten of Rector, Arkansas and Anna Louise Thompson of Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery.
The family asks that donations be given to Hospice.
