Catherine Pauline Risinger, of Piggott, Ark., passed away on March 3, 2013, at the age of 91. She was born August 5, 1921, in Nimmons, Ark., of William Henry Hinchcliff and Eva Pearl (Lankford) Hinchcliff. Catherine raised a large family out of the cotton fields of Nimmons before moving to Piggott around 1968. She was well known for her cooking, working in Piggott at Ken's Restaurant and Jo's Café for many years, and feeding the town with her good food and humor. She made many friends in her many years, some who have already passed before her and some sad to see her go ahead of them.
She is survived by nine children, seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grand children, and one great-great grandchild. Children include Betty Broadway, Gene Haddon and husband Don, Nellie Garner and husband Pete, Linda Quinlan and husband Ron, Katy Chilcutt of Piggott, Dinah Potts and husband Dave, Tim Risinger and wife Dianna of Piggott, Tony Risinger and wife Donna of Piggott and Tommy Risinger and wife Christie of Piggott.
Grandchildren include Craig and Kathy Broadway, Dianna Harris of Kennett, Tony Gene Whitehorn of Kennett, Pattie Houston, David and Doug Garner, Rodney Heath Beck and Brian Guerrant, Jimmy Chilcutt of Piggott, Cristal Foulk-Friederich of Piggott, William C. Foulk of Piggott, Michael and Kindal Risinger of Piggott and Hayden, Adam and Sydney Risinger of Piggott.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Jerry Massey officiating. Burial was in Nimmons Cemetery in Nimmons, Ark. Pallbearers were David Garner, Douglas Garner, Heath Beck, Michael Risinger, Chad Foulk, Jimmy Chilcutt, Hayden Risinger, Adam Risinger and Kindal Risinger. Visitation was held Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
