Patricia Cornelison, 72, of Austin, Texas, surrounded by her immediate family, joined other loved ones in Heaven on March 5, 2013.

Patti was born to Raymond Cornelison and Phyllis Sims Cornelison on January 1, 1941, in Marmaduke, Arkansas. Because Phyllis passed away only a few months after Pattie was born, she was raised by her loving grandparents Marion Monroe Cornelison and Dora Bell Deck Cornelison, and her devoted aunt Mildred Dorris.

She graduated from Rector High School and worked as a bookkeeper at Irby Funeral Home and Sigsby Insurance in Rector before moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1979, where she continued working as a bookkeeper in the construction business. Patti moved to Texas to live with her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters in 2010.

Patti lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed playing tennis, shopping with her family and friends, and was known to strike up conversation with total strangers. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of everyone she met, who were changed by her witness of nurturing love and faith. Her gift of joy, shown through her smiling, laughter, and understanding, will never be forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Cornelison, and her aunts and uncles, Mildred Dorris, Alberta Phillips, and Tribble Cornelison.

She is survived by daughter Beverly Hurst and son-in-law Jay; granddaughters Kelli Mack, and Erin Depew and husband Kevin Depew; great- granddaughters Taylor Mack and Avery Depew; stepmother Geneva Cornelison; brothers and sisters Carolyn Rose Tate, Charles Smith,

Peggy Joiner, Phyllis Taylor, and Pam Forrest; uncle Elvis Cornelison, and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service was held at the First Baptist Church in Rector on Saturday, March 9, 2013, with Mark Manchester officiating. Interment followed the service at Woodland Heights Cemetery.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
