Edith was born February 28, 1913, to Monroe and Mae (Davis) Raymond in Clay County, Ark.
On April 23, 1943, she wed Floyd J. E. Green, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 1980. Also preceding her in death were two brothers; Truman Raymond, and Herman Raymond, and a sister, Ruby Brawner.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Sondra Huff and husband Jerry of Independence, Kan.; four nieces; Mrs. Joan Elder of St. Charles, Mo., Mrs. Barbara Gawedszinki and husband Norbert of Fenton, Mo., Mrs. Linda Balestreri and husband John of Maryland Heights, Mo. and Mrs. Suzanne Galindo and husband Hector of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a nephew, Jim Raymond and wife Peggy of Ellisville, Mo. and a sister in law, Mrs. Mereda Raymond of St. Charles Mo.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour early in life and was a longtime member of the First General Baptist Church of Piggott, Ark.
Edith was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was a caregiver to her late husband, her mother and her sister asking little for herself. Yet about noon on March 7, 2013 her faith allowed her to escape this prison of flesh to go look upon the face of her Saviour. Surely she heard the One Who made all that is, and all that will be, say "Well done my faithful servant. Enter into My Rest."
She leaves a legacy of deeds and memories to those that love her.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Rick Fincher officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Ark.
