Jerry B. Gossett
Jerry Gossett, son of the late Millage Gossett and Mildred Campbell Gossett, was born on January 18, 1936 in Piggott, Ark. and departed this life at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on March 14, 2013 at the age of 77 years.
Mr. Gossett was the owner and operator of Gossett and Morgan Associates Inc. located in Warren, Mich. and Arnold, Mo. He was a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge #2439 and a longstanding member of the Dexter Water Board District #1. Jerry was of the Baptist faith and a resident of Dexter.
On Jan. 1, 1954 he was united in marriage to Delores J. Johnson in Dearborn, Mich. Mrs. Gossett preceded him in death on December 29, 2007. He was then united in marriage to Juanita Ragsdale on Feb.21, 2009 in Dexter, Mo. Mrs. Gossett survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, survivors include four daughters, Judy McDonald and Jeff of Crystal River, Fla., Teresa Larocque and Mike of High Ridge, Mo., Diane Mitchell and her late husband Doug of Summerville, S.C., Barbara Judge and Tim of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; by six grandchildren, Tony and his wife Michelle, Jennifer, Melanie, Amanda, Brian and Melissa; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Madyson, William, Desiree, Amber, Jordon, and Caleb; by two brothers, Richard Gossett of Paragould, Ark. and Norman Gossett of Pocahontas, Ark.; two sisters, Susan Krause of Piggott, Ark. and Judy Darlene Messer of Bimble, Ky.; also by his wives children; Jerrid Ragsdale of Lenoir City, Tenn., James Warren Ragsdale of Meansville, Ga. and Jacquline Allender of Dexter, Mo.; along with eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Besides his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Matthew Larocque and Ricky St. Pierre; also by one brother, David Gossett; and by two sisters, Jane Brit and Mona Bare.
Friends were received at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kevin Murray and Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Graveside services and Interment will follow at the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Ark. at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013.
