Edward Elvis Merrell

Edward Elvis Merrell, son of the late Floyd Merrell and Bertha Cleo (Nelson) Merrell, was born on June 19, 1940 in Rector, Ark. and departed this life on March 12, 2013 at the age of 73 years. Edward married Sandra L. Ward on Oct. 3, 1965.

He was a veteran, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include, his wife, Sandra Merrell of Marmaduke; three sons, Joe Merrell and wife Julie of Sullivan, Mo., Mickey Merrell and wife Robin of Paragould, Ark. and Michael Merrell and wife Heather of Jacksonsville, Fla.; one brother, Edgar Merrell of Sterling Heights, Mich.; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Krenna Chere Merrell.

Visitation was held Friday, March 15 at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Doran Gregory officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery at Greenway, Ark. Pallbearers were Joe Merrell, Mickey Merrell, Michael Merrell, Tim Moslander, Nathan Merrell, Justin Merrell, Austin Merrell and Dalton Hester.
