Lady Mohawks Take Second in Tournament Play

The Piggott Lady Mohawks took on two Missouri teams in tournament play Saturday, easily beating New Madrid County Central and then falling for the second time in a week to the Kennett Lady Indians by a final of 9-6. With the split the Tribe took second place honors. Monday afternoon the squad traveled to Hoxie and swept a pair of conference games from the Lady Mustangs.

The Tribe was scheduled to be idle the remainder of the week, and will return to action Monday, April 15 with a home contest against the Rivercrest Lady Colts at Independence Park. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. Next Tuesday, April 16 they're slated to entertain the Lady Bobcats of Corning with a 4:30 p.m. start time and Thursday, April 18 will wrap up the regular home season schedule with a non-conference game with the Lady Greyhounds of Marmaduke. That contest is scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m.

The following Monday, April 22 they're scheduled to visit Armorel and the following day, Tuesday, April 23 they're slated to wrap up the regular season with a re-match with the Lady 'Hounds at Marmaduke. First pitch for both contests is set for 4 p.m.

The 3A-3 conference tournament will be played at Independence Park in Piggott Thursday through Saturday, April 25 to 27. Game times may be found in the April 17 edition.
