Mary Glodean Ridgeway, 94, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Monday, April 15, 2013.

She was born on August 27, 1918, in Higginson, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Alvin Taylor and Alberta Alice (Howdeshell) Slayton.

She was united in marriage to Earnest Ridgeway on Sept. 11, 1936. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1985. On Feb. 5, 1992, she was united in marriage to Paul Ridgeway. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2013.

Mary was also preceded in death by her grandson, Ricky Champion; two brothers, Raymond Slayton and L.C. Slayton and three sisters, Ursal Schumaker, Cora Wilson and Christene Simms.

Survivors include her children: Freddie Lee Ridgeway and wife Barbara of Piggott, Ark. and Shirley Champion and husband Cecil of Madison Heights, Mich.; two grandchildren, Randy Champion and wife Joy of Michigan, and Tracy Ridgeway of South Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Champion and Chris Champion and wife Robin; one great-great granddaughter, Cami; two nephews, Danny Settlemoir and Terry Ridgeway; one niece, Norma Harmon and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Mike Chadwick officiating and Danny Self assisting. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Ark. Pallbearers are Eldon Parrish, Tom Sims, Danny Settlemoir, Randy Champion, Bill Martin and Terry Ridgeway. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday and continues until the time of the service.
