Cougars hosting district tourney
Rector will play host to the 2A-3 Baseball District Tournament beginning Thursday, April 25.
The hosting Cougars, the sixth seed, are set to face rival Marmaduke, the seventh seed, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Thrusday's games will start with a 4 p.m. matchup between fifth seeded BIC and Cross County, the eighth seed, at 4 p.m.
Friday's games will begin at 4 p.m. with the BIC-Cross County winner facing East Poinsett County, the fourth seed, at 4 p.m. in quarterfinal action. The second quarterfinal, slated to being at 6:30 p.m. Friday, will feature third seed Riverside and the winner of Rector-Marmaduke.
The semifinals are slated to begin Saturday. Second seeded Marked Tree will face the winner of the 6:30 p.m. Friday contest at noon Saturday. Top seed McCrory awaits the winner of the Friday's 4 p.m. semifinal at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The tourney final is set to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Current reports indicate a strong chance for rainfall Friday, which could potentially result in the schedule requiring changes.
