Rector High School Class of 2013 set to Graduate
The first part of a wondrous journey will complete Sunday, as the Rector High School Class of 2013 take steps into adulthood as one during one of their most emotional and memorable shared events --graduation from high school at 2 p.m. Sunday at the school gymnasium.
Loved ones from both near and far will gather to bear witness as the graduates begin one of the most revered rites of passage in American life and to cheer as the 38 class members receive their diplomas.
Valedictorian of the RHS Class of 2013 is Kelly Karene Fowler. Salutatorian is Kaitlyn Marie Essman.
Other Honor Graduates, in alphabetical order, are: Payton McKenzee Holcomb, Hayden Shelby McCluskey, David Jason Rose, Sydney Rebecca Simmons, Neeley Rochelle Sims, Mitchell Dewayne Weber and Sherman Marcus Daniel White.
Other members of the class are: Ashley Earlene Arnold, Kasey Thomas Baker, Sarah Diane Bean, Jazmin Marav Beck, Matthew Dwight Blount, Kayla Cheyanne Bond, Tyler Ray Carter, Rylan Dean Classen, Jessica Renee' Garner, Charles David Garron, Justin Alexander Herrera, Ryan Jackson, Aaron Lee Johnson, Rachel Louise Lampkin, Teresa Shauntae Lopez, Login J. Mooneyhan, Seth Clayton Morris, Toni Raeann Prince, Emily Leiann Sanders, Jake Dylan Scott, Dillon Alexander Shelton, Jimmy Roy Smith, Robert Stokes, Matthew Stone, Jesse Nicole Studdard, Tarryn Arah Tracy, James Tyler Watson, Gabrielle Dominique Wilson and Misty Marie Writesel.
Graduates will enter the gym as the RHS Concert Band plays the traditional processional. Daniel White will give the invocation. Addresses by the valedictorian and salutatorian will be followed by the presentation of awards by principal Wade Williams.
Diplomas will be presented by Rector school board president James Turner. Graduates then will join in singing their class song, "It's Time." Senior class members then will lead the school's Alma Mater.
The benediction by graduate Mitchell Weber will be followed by the recessional, also played by the RHS Concert Band.
Ushers for the afternoon will be RHS juniors Haven Cagle, Kaylee Hartsfield, River Rice and Alec Scott.
