Piggott Heritage Park Car Show and Cruise This Weekend

The Piggott area will come to life this weekend with the arrival of the 15th annual Piggott Heritage Park Car Show and Cruise, set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 17, 18 and 19. The show will be held at Heritage Park in Piggott, and will include the annual cruise through town and back to the downtown square Saturday evening for live music and fun under the lights.

The schedule for this year's show gets underway the evening of Friday, May 17 with a chicken wing dinner for participants. The event is sponsored by First National Bank of Paragould and the sides are provided by the congregation of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Piggott.

And, at 7 p.m. Piggott Auto Collision Service will sponsor karaoke in the amphitheatre at Heritage Park.

Saturday morning, May 18, the Piggott Lions Club will be hosting a pancake breakfast at the community center in conjunction with the show. The cost is $5 per person, for all you care to eat.

Check-in will be going on from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and continue at 8 a.m. Saturday morning at the park, with judging set for mid-day. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. Participants will also be treated to a pork steak dinner late Saturday afternoon, prior to the cruise. Those taking part in the cruise will begin to line up at 5:30 p.m. and will leave the park at 6:00.

Following the cruise, participants and the public are invited to gather around the square from 7 to 9 p.m. for an evening of live music featuring "Patrick Patterson and The Band" sponsored by Piggott State Bank.

Sunday morning at 8:30 there will be live gospel music at the park featuring Jennifer Krebbes, followed at 9 a.m. with the awards ceremony.

At that time a prize of $500 will be handed-out to the winner of "Best of Show" and $250 prizes will be awarded to the "People's Choice" and "Ladies Choice" winners.

Entries are still being accepted at the chamber office in the depot building, or vehicles may be entered at the gate the day of the show. The entry fee is $40 per vehicle.
