Mable Hatcher, 91, of Rector passed away on May 14, 2013. She was born March 19, 1922, to the late R.W. and Leona (French) Poppe. Mable will always be remembered for her good cooking which included a few favorites such as her chicken and dumplings, coconut pie, divinity and Aunt Mable brownies.
In addition to her parents: she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley "Dempsey" Hatcher and a brother, Victor Poppe.
She has left behind a family that she helped raise and claimed as her own, Diane and Jim McClain, Sherry and Cam Cate, Jeffrey and Lisa Deniston, Amanda Layer, Madison Cate, Nick Deniston and Presley Banks, and her sisters, Sula Gardner and Wanda Brown. They all fondly remember the many nights she spent awake worrying about them.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Methodist Church with Fred Barker officiating. Interment will be at Woodland Heights.
