William D. "Bill" Alexander
William D. "Bill" Alexander, of Ft. Meyers, Fla., died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the age of 80. He was born October 16, 1932 to the late Roy and Lorene (Gribble) Alexander in Pollard, Ark.
He joined the United States Marine Corps on his 18th birthday and served his country in the Korean War.
Bill retired as a professor emeritus of Literature at Oakland Community College in Farmington, Mich. where he worked for many years.
He is survived by his four children, Ken Alexander of Telluride, Colo., Kathryn Alexander and husband Robert Banueles of Charlotte, N.C., Kevin Alexander of Naples, Fla. and Kraig Alexander and wife, Gaby, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Alexandria Banueles, Priscilla Banueles, Madison Alexander and Leighton Alexander. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Alexander of Piggott, Ark. along with many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 in Detroit, Mich.
