John Edward Tracy, Jr.
Mr. John Edward Tracy, Jr., age 75 of Rector, Ark., passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Rector Nursing Home. Born in Tokyo, Ark., he was the son of the late John and Jeanette (Meredith) Tracy and was a longtime area resident. Mr. Tracy was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Irene Tracy of the home; one son: John Edward Tracy III and wife Karen of Sikeston, Mo.; one daughter: Leeann Kopey of Elkhart, Ind.; four grandchildren: John Edward Tracy IV of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Keith Vangilder of Paragould, Ark., Matt Kobey of Elkhart, Ind. and Mark Lambert of Elkhart, Ind.; five great-grandchildren; two brothers: Tom Tracy of Rector, Ark. and Tony Nelson of Elkhart, Ind.; two sisters: Sharon Gamblin of Rector, Ark. and Wilma Ramer of Rector, Ark. Mr. Tracy also leaves a host of other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Melba Lambert; three sisters: Barbara Tracy, Frances White and Suzy Jordon.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday May 25, 2013 at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Rector, Ark. with Rev. Don Morris officiating. Burial followed in the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Ark. under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Ark. The family received visitors Saturday from noon until service time at the church.
