Betty Jean Hardin
Betty Jean Hardin, 85, of Piggott, Ark., passed away May 22, 2013, at the General Baptist Nursing Home of Piggott, Ark.
She was born on June 24, 1927, in Rector, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Ewart and Nola (Parrish) Holifield.
She was united in marriage to Robert Julian Hardin on Jan. 1, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her brother, J.W. Travillian and her sister, Norma Sue Holifield.
Betty was a longtime member of the Mars Hill Methodist Church near Crockett, Ark., and was recently attending Hopewell General Baptist Church in Greenway, Ark.
Survivors include her son, Robert Hardin and wife Vada of Piggott, Ark.; three grandchildren: Kevin Hardin of Piggott, Ark., Keith Hardin and wife Shara of Corning, Ark. and Stephanie Williams and husband Justin of Brookland, Ark.; five great-grandchildren: Shelby, Malorey, and Bryar Hardin, Jade Williams and Spencer Hardin; one great-great-grandchild: Declan Vezeau and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at noon Friday, May 24, 2013, at Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Boyd Wicker officiating. Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery near Crockett, Ark. Pallbearers were Kevin Hardin, Keith Hardin, Justin Williams, Gary Howell, Travis Boyd and Freddie Hartsfield. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held Friday prior to service time at the funeral home.
